Episode 2: ARTS (Attraction, Retention, Tribes, and Systems)
In this episode, Caroline and Erica build on what was talked about in episode one. They introduce four umbrella categories to guide you through each month at your studio. Those four categories are an acronym called ARTS! Attraction, Retention, Tribes and Systems.
Attraction: What are you doing to attract new students, and drive people to your studio? Do you have tasks on the calendar that are specifically designed to attract new students?
Retention: You have to cast the net out as wide as you can. You’ll get a lesser amount that will engage, convert and then later commit. So before you focus on keeping students, focus on casting your net wider, then you can ask, “Which tasks in my monthly calendar serve the purpose of retention? What am I doing to retain my current enrollment? Are kids enjoying themselves? Are my staff connecting with them?” The one thing, guaranteed that parents and students alike will want is connection. Are you building relationships? Do they feel valued, like they’re an asset to the team?
Tribe: What are you doing to show your team you appreciate them? Does your team feel valued the way that your students do? Be intentional about your acknowledgment, support, and appreciation for your tribe.
Systems: Don’t let this block your creativity! Every good idea has to be executed. Don’t limit yourself with too many hows. Think big, then execute. Who is gonna get the job done, and what systems need to be set up or triggered, in order for your studio to function properly? Is everything set up and functioning to work without you?
This umbrella will give you the tools to confidently hand over the reins. You can step away, and have more freedom to create.
